With the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the spread of Coronavirus, Opportunities Doncaster, c/o Doncaster Chamber has decided that a number of events planned over the coming weeks will be postponed.

Andy Hibbitt, Chief Operating Officer at Doncaster Chamber, said:

“Opportunities Doncaster exists to provide learners with access to employers and real professionals to get a better idea of the world of work. We know that learners, parents, schools and businesses are concerned about the possible impact of the Coronavirus. As government guidance around social distancing changes, we feel it necessary to postpone the in-school careers activity events planned for March.

We are committed to ensuring the continuity of careers support and guidance, and are working with schools and businesses to rearrange events for later in the year.”

Opportunities Doncaster are closely following the latest advice and guidance issued by the UK Government, Public Health England (PHE) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. We will continue to take all appropriate and necessary steps, as required by the official advice, to keep our community safe.

Up to date advice for education settings on the coronavirus can be accessed from the gov.uk website.

Up to date local and national business advice on the coronavirus can be accessed at doncaster-chamber.co.uk/coronavirus. Doncaster Chamber will also be updating businesses with the latest recommendations through their social media channels.
