Opportunities Doncaster wants to ensure that the businesses we work with have the knowledge and confidence to effectively provide meaningful encounters for students. We do this in a number of ways:

Doncaster Promise

Businesses have access to support which includes developing inclusion and progression pathways within their organisation. This way of thinking links to businesses better understanding the need to engage with their potential future workforce within your school

Toolkits & Sharing Best Practice

We have created a series of downloadable toolkits and best practice hints and tips for employers which directly correlate to the activities listed within this offer. These provide information, advice and guidance on how to create and deliver activities to their target audience as well as explaining to the businesses the impact of the interactions they’re having

Workshops

Businesses are encouraged to attend a bespoke workshop which has been designed in such a way to ensure that they understand the importance of the activities which they’re hosting, sets the scene for the different types of encounters available whilst helping them to shape their personalised activities and puts the businesses in the mind-set of a young learner to really help boost learner engagement

Covid 19 Recovery

Opportunities Doncaster understands that the world will be very different after Covid 19 and we want to be able to help reassure our young people that there are local employers that will still need them. We’re working with businesses to help them appreciate that your students are the key to their business recovery strategies. Providing support with the creation of apprenticeships, apprenticeship providers and better understanding their levy as well as information on implementing traineeships, work experience and supported internships

Disability Confident

To support our passion for inclusion we’re encouraging businesses to become Disability Confident. Providing them with the information and guidance they need in order to make the most of the talents a disabled person can bring to their workplace
